Stop Western Governors' Association's War on Community Cats!
The Western Governors' Association (WGA) has just gone all out to criminalize animals and plants whose only crime was to be born or sprouted as a result of human oversight, laziness, or idiocy. The WGA is even planting misinformation and stirring hatred against our nation's beloved community cats. Its representatives cannot get away with taking potshots against our four-legged friends. We must tear down WGA's hateful 'wanted' poster against cats!
Tell West Lampeter Fair: No More Pig Chases!
Pig chases are cruel, violent activities organized under the guise of children's amusement. During the chases, children and teens between the ages of 5 and 14 cover their arms in grease, then chase, tackle, headlock, and pull on a pig's legs until she is finally caught for a prize of $15. The audience cheers and laughs while terrified pigs scream in total panic, sometimes for hours on end. We must stop children from being taught to abuse animals for fun and stop the Children's Pig Catching Contest at the 94th West Lampeter Community Fair!
Crows Escape Massacre in Vermont Thanks to You!
We're thrilled to let you know that thanks to thousands of compassionate In Defense of Animals supporters like you, the Boonie Club's cruel crow hunt was stopped! According to the reports of dedicated activists on the ground, no crow shoot took place in Williamsport, Vermont this past weekend. Crows were observed flying around peacefully after a night of snowfall and a dawn of cold weather and wind, and the small town was free of any organized activity.
South Korea Bans Taiji Dolphins
On March 20, the Ministry of Environment announced amendments to the Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Protection and Management of Wildlife that will prohibit the import of dolphins who are captured by "cruel methods." The amendment appears to directly address the dolphin drive hunts in Taiji, which see dolphins driven to shore, separated from their families and either killed with a long harpoon, or kept alive and shipped to aquariums in Japan and around the world, or driven back out to sea. The Taiji hunters will no longer be able to sell dolphins to South Korea!
Massacred Equine Herd Still Without Justice
The Mississippi Third District Grand Jury convened on March 14, 2018, in Okolona, Mississippi hearing the case we've been following about the herd of horses and donkeys who were brutally gunned down on September 19, 2017 in the Van Vleet community of Chickasaw County. The morning of September 19th, Dalton Christian and his family discovered that their nine horses and two donkeys were missing. Gunfire had been heard and the search for the equines ended in horror.
