The “Cards for a Cause” campaign sponsored by CardsDirect premiered at The HBO Luxury Lounge in honor of the 61st annual Emmy Awards. Rebecca Creskoff (best known for her roles on "Hung" and "Quintuplets") chose In Defense of Animals as her charity of choice. Rebecca Creskoff CardsDirect Holiday Cards

Through December 31, 2009, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these cards will go to IDA. Cards will include IDA's logo along with your custom imprinted verse, photo, and personalization.

IDA Veg Fest 2009 TableWorld Veg Festival A Success

IDA once again co-sponsored the World Veg Fest in San Francisco, October 3rd and 4th, 2009. This was the 10th year of the popular festival.

Hope Bohanec, IDA’s Grassroots Campaigns Director, shared a PowerPoint presentation on the environmental impact of animal agriculture called "Eco-Eating: The Power of Your Plate." Hope's talk explored the detrimental effects of animal agriculture on our environment including global warming, water use and pollution, energy consumption, deforestation, loss of biodiversity and species, as well as the deep impact of fishing on our oceans.

The County Fair Building in beautiful Golden Gate Park was filled with animal advocacy organizations, vegan vendors and outstanding speakers. Click here to read more.

Project Hope horse cruelty case, October 2009IDA's Project Hope Sanctuary Rescues Four Starving Horses

Last Saturday, a Mississippi deputy received an urgent call - when he responded, he found four starving horses and one dead horse.

The horses arrived at IDA's Project Hope sanctuary on Saturday evening. They were in dire need of immediate veterinary help, and we provided it, thanks to your continuing support.

We are grateful for our supporters and staff whose work makes these rescues possible. We'll keep you posted on the progress of these four horses. Click here to read the full story, and to see photos.
